Afecta estructuras met\u00e1licas, equipos, tanques y sistemas cr\u00edticos, generando p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas significativas, riesgos de seguridad, paradas operativas no planificadas y reducci\u00f3n de la vida \u00fatil de los activos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Para mitigar estos riesgos, la ingenier\u00eda de corrosi\u00f3n utiliza normas t\u00e9cnicas que permiten dise\u00f1ar sistemas de protecci\u00f3n adecuados. Su objetivo principal es asegurar una protecci\u00f3n anticorrosiva efectiva en un tiempo de durabilidad estimado, considerando el ambiente, el dise\u00f1o y la vida \u00fatil esperada del sistema. Originalmente fue publicada en 1998 y posteriormente actualizada en 2018.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Este est\u00e1ndar fue desarrollado por representantes de pa\u00edses claves y de compa\u00f1\u00edas involucradas en la protecci\u00f3n de estructuras de acero con el fin de construir un lineamiento mutuamente beneficioso. Adem\u00e1s, se adiciona una cuarta categor\u00eda para inmersi\u00f3n IM4 que cubre estructuras sumergidas en agua de mar o agua salobre para protecci\u00f3n cat\u00f3dica.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Nuevas categor\u00edas de durabilidad:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> las categor\u00edas Baja, Media y Alta se mantienen, pero se adiciona Muy Alta.
